Inspired by the beautiful Bassac River, where the venue of the Street Art Fest++ was held, Singaporean muralist Yip Yew Chong painted the mural with a whimsical extension of the river’s horizon. He combines the Bassac River, Tonle Sap, Mekong River and Singapore’s Marina Bay into one magical scene. Iconic landmarks of both countries decorate the waterfront, such as the Royal Palace, Jewel Changi Airport, Angkor Wat, Gardens by the Bay, Central Market in Phnom Penh and the Merlion. The people, flora and fauna of both countries are also depicted to showcase the friendship of the two countries, cultures and peoples.

The mural was purchased by Phillip Bank Plc.  and generously gifted to the Siem Reap Provincial Government and installed at the Cambodian National Youth Centre in Siem Reap. In support of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s increased vigilance and precautionary measures against the community transmission of COVID-19, the unveiling was done remotely; no ceremony was held in Siem Reap.
